Successes to date

- Much more eye contact, especially during self-stimulating activities. Previously his self-stimulatory activities were quite exclusive. Responds to ‘look at my eyes’ commands approximately 80% of the time.
- Imaan has started saying a few words in context; Milk, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Biscuit, Wee-wee, Poo-poo, Water, Out, Open, Light, Computer, Good night, Night night, Good Morning, Bye bye, Itchy, Scratch, Carry, Horsey, Blow, Bubble, Balloon, Ball, etc.
- Started to sing rather than just humming – Ring a ring a roses, Incy wincy spider, Twinkle twinkle little star, etc.
- Starts speaking in sentences: “Baba, I want milk please”, “Peanut butter please”, “I want biscuit please”, “I want bubble please”
- Started imitating us playing with therapy ball, doing countdown from 5 and then acting as if flying after saying “take off”.
- Sleeping through the night
- 90% toilet trained, out of nappies (but not at night)
- Seems much more contented, less overload symptoms
- Able to focus for longer periods with sustained eye contact
- Looks at our mouths when we model words and tries to follow most of the time
- He initiates interaction with us to join him in activities such as playing with toys.
